The Team

  • There are 11 players in a team
Substitutes
  • Substitutes are only permitted in the event of an injury to a player and in the absence of a recognized umpire only with the agreement of the opposing team manager. Substitutes may not bat; bowl; act as a wicket-keeper, captain or runner.
Coaching and Umpiring
  • Managers should not umpire games.
  • No coaching is permitted.
The pitch
  • Will be 22 yards long
The Ball
  • One new 5 1/2 oz. cricket ball is to be provided by the nominated home team and is to be used for both innings.
Bowling
  • Maximum of 4 overs per player and underarm bowling is not permitted.
  • The penalty for Wides and No Balls is 1 penalty run in addition to any runs scored. An extra ball will be bowled in the over.
Fielding
  • Even if wearing a helmet, no fielder is allowed to field within 8 yards of the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the off side, until the striker has played at the ball.
Batting
  • Batsman are not required to retire in this age group.
