The Team

  • There are 11 players in a team
Coaching and Umpiring
  • Ideally managers should not umpire games.
  • Limited coaching is permitted.
The pitch
  • Will be 20 yards long
The Ball
  • One new 4 3/4 oz. (junior) cricket ball is to be provided by the nominated home team and is to be used for both innings.
Bowling
  • Maximum of 3 overs per player.
  • Underarm bowling is not permitted.
  • Any delivery that passes over waist height on the full, (even though it may hit the stumps) will be deemed unfair and 'No Ball' must be called.
  • The penalty for Wides and No Balls is two runs in addition to any runs scored: but no extra balls will be bowled except in the last over of each innings.
Fielding
  • Even if wearing a helmet, no fielder is allowed to field within 11 yards of the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the off side, until the striker has played at the ball.
Batting
  • Having scored 25 runs a batsman must retire. The retired batsman may return after all other wickets have fallen.
